Luc Deneys’ instruments are truly unique. He doesn’t follow specific series but constantly experiments with form and sound so that each newly created instrument is an individual piece of art. He has been making violins, violas and cellos on his own for more than 40 years. This cello has an extremely special and wide sound with a very rich resonance. One of our best examples, it is extremely powerful and will easily carry in any hall even when played quietly. Ideally suited to a soloist or a principal player who often plays solo repertoire. The cello comes certified from the Luthier. During a recent blind test in Paris (Radio France) with some Stradivari violins, Deneys’ violin came out as the best sounding one.

Luc Deneys

Luc Deneys is a Luthier who only makes unique instruments. He does not make any series but continuously experiments with form and sound so that each newly created instrument is an individual piece of art to be added to his total oeuvre, which by now consists of 200 instruments. Luc was born on April 2, 1953 in the university town of Leuven, Belgium.

This is one of my favourite cellos. It not only has depth of sound but also a lot of power. This is typical of Luc's instruments.
