Arnaud Giral

French | Based in Bristol, UK

I make copies of violins, violas, cellos and viols from the early 17th century to the early 19th century with a particular attention to stringing and set-up. My aim is to create instruments for today’s musicians with an historically informed approach because I believe that knowledge is a source of creative freedom.

Baroque Violin by Arnaud Giral, 2018

A beautiful baroque violin, made by Luthier Arnaud Giral in his workshop in Bristol. Arnaud brings a unique approach to every instrument he makes and his craftmanship speaks for itself. He achieves the exact sound he is looking for through experimentation and outside-the-box thinking leading to instruments that do not have a conventional tone. This violin sounds precise and balanced in all registers and has a powerful resonance throughout. This baroque violin comes certified from the Luthier.
