Every maker here is represented because we know the work first-hand. We have played and handled their instruments ourselves, often over many years, and would be comfortable recommending them to a professional player. Instruments can be compared at our London showroom.

How do you choose which makers to represent?
We play the instruments first. Every maker here is one whose work we have handled, usually repeatedly, and whose instruments we would put in the hands of a professional without qualification. We are not a directory and we do not list makers we have not worked with.
Can I try instruments by more than one maker at once?
Yes, and we would encourage it. Comparison is the only reliable way to choose. Instruments can be played side by side at our London showroom.
Can I commission an instrument from any of these makers?
In most cases yes. We hold ongoing orders with many of our makers, which sometimes means a shorter wait than approaching the workshop directly. Waiting times vary from a few months to several years.
