Emilio Slaviero is an Italian bow maker in Cremona, working alongside his son Luca. Together they make bows for violin, viola and cello in silver and gold mountings.
Emilio trained in Paris, one of the world's bow making capitals, but always intended to bring that standard of work back to Cremona, which is a city known for instruments rather than for bows. Their bows carry strong and consistent characteristics: well balanced, with a crisp and clear sound.
Their bows are used by players across Europe, often paired with the contemporary Cremonese instruments they were designed to complement.
From the craftsmanship to the sound, everything about the Slaviero bows is top quality. They bring out the best in a string instrument, and the playability gives a musician far more freedom to dig into the string, explore contact points and find depth of sound, all while keeping the control an exceptional bow should offer. The gold mounted cello bows in particular suit a player looking for more projection, and are extremely well balanced along the whole length. They are among the most reliable recommendations we make.
