Introducing The Listening Room

While our HD recordings have helped players all over the world, we felt there was still a gap between watching a video and truly testing an instrument. To solve that, we’ve built the MyLuthier Listening Room. It is the first tool of its kind, designed to give you a level of control over the audition process that simply hasn't existed online until now.

What is the MyLuthier Listening Room?

It’s a dedicated space at compare.myluthier.co where you can move past just "watching a video" and start actually auditioning instruments side-by-side.

We’ve designed it to mirror the way you’d test violins in a physical shop, but with some digital advantages you won't find anywhere else:

• Curate Your Own Comparison: You aren't stuck with a pre-set list. You pick the instruments you’re interested in from our collection and add them to your room.
• Tournament Mode: Comparing ten violins at once is overwhelming. Our tool uses a "head-to-head" format, letting you compare two instruments at a time until you’ve narrowed it down to a winner.
• Blind Listening: This is probably our favourite feature. To stay completely impartial, you can hide the names and listen blindly. It’s the best way to make sure you’re choosing based on sound only.
• Spectral Visualiser: For a more technical look, you can use the visualiser to see the harmonic profile of each instrument. It helps highlight the specific "ring" or "depth" that your ears are picking up.
