Violin Bow by Louis Morizot Père, c. 1920

A beautiful bow by Louis Morizot père, made in Mirecourt around 1920 and certified by Pierre Guillaume. The stick is crafted from attractive orange-brown pernambuco of excellent quality, with a lively character. The head, sculpted with rounded lines, is entirely typical of Morizot’s elegant style. The ebony frog is mounted in silver with classic fittings and a simple pearl eye, together with a matching silver-mounted button. Made on commission for the luthier François Xavier Moinel and branded “Moinel Cherpitel” above the frog, the bow carries an added historical interest while remaining fully representative of Morizot’s craftsmanship. The overall condition is near mint.
