An unattributed Italian violin from the second half of the eighteenth century, made in central northern Italy. The workmanship is of a high order throughout. The craftmanship is bold and elegant, and the varnish a beautiful golden, light-brown .
The sound is the reason to buy it. It is bright but complex with outstanding projection. Response is quick and the instrument takes bow weight without ever tightening. It has been played by a concertmaster, chamber musician and recitalist. A true very fine Italian sounding violin at a much lower cost than an attributed named violin.
