We first played this cello in Cremona earlier this year, and it reminded us why Davide Pizzolato is one of our most popular cello makers. Pizzolato works in Cremona under the supervision of Daniele Tonarelli. Together they produce instruments of real quality in the authentic contemporary Cremonese style. The sound is incredibly warm and expressive. It also responds very well to different points of contact between the bridge and fingerboard, giving it a broad colour palette. It also feels very comfortable under the hand from the first note, which makes it a cello you settle into quickly and keep discovering over time. A fantastic choice for players looking for a refined Cremonese instrument that is as rewarding to play with as it is to hear.
